Liliana Porter (b. 1941) was among the Argentine artists to participate in the 11th Annual Exhibition of Latin American Prints (New York: Zegrí Gallery, January 5–February 4, 1965). Porter, along with Luis Camnitzer (b. 1937), who represented Uruguay at this exhibition, and José Guillermo Castillo (b. 1938), founded the NYGW (New York Graphic Workshop) between 1964 and 1965, which was before the time of the show.In addition to Liliana Porter, the following artists participated in the 11th Annual Exhibition of Latin American Prints: Alda María Armagni, Carmen Gracía, Mabel Rubli, Daniel Zelaya, Jorge G. Ferrer, César Irizarry, Luis Hernández, and Rivero (Puerto Rico), and Luis Camnitzer, José Gamarra, and Giancarlo Puppo (Uruguay). This document provides an account of the first exhibitions in which Porter participated shortly after she permanently settled in New York City.
