In this article Luis Humberto defends the idea of authorship, of photography attributed to its author, faced with the widespread absence of photographic images as bearers of information that have been replaced by television.
Since the 1960s, Luis Humberto—the architect, professor, and founder of the Universidade de Brasília—has worked as a photojournalist and as an image theorist. Íris, the magazine that appeared in 1947, was edited by João Koranyi. For a long time, this magazine was hugely influential in the field of Brazilian photography. It went through a number of phases and eventually ceased publication in 1999.
